Internet Marketing... Ecommerce... Be a Partner...
Make Money From Your Site... Make Money While You Surf...

Just about everyone has heard about the explosion in Internet Marketing. The web has brought information and business opportunities right into our homes. For the first time, persons who have dreamed of owning their own business or working from home may actually see that dream realized.

With so much information available, how do you choose what's right for you? How can you tell the difference between a legitimate opportunity, a waste of time, or an outright scam?

After researching this area for well over a year, I am convinced of one thing. There is no magic "get rich quick" formula. Remember the newspaper "Help Wanted" classifieds? Sales opportunities, no education, no experience, make $20,000 a month. Come on, get real. The same thing applies here.

So, how do you decide? Here are some things to think about:

How do you see this new venture fitting into your life? The methods you choose must fit both your current life and your vision of what you want your life to be. Otherwise, you won't be happy and chances are, it won't work either. Think about these questions:
~How much time do I have to invest?
~How much money do I have to invest?
~Do I want something easy to generate a little extra income?
~Do I want to replace my current job?
~What are my short-range goals?
~What are my long-range goals?

Be honest with yourself. If you don't have written goals, now is the time to determine what they are and how you plan to reach them. If you have never done this, and many people haven't, go to "How to Write Goals" to help you get started.

How do you know if it's a legitimate opportunity? The Internet has been around long enough for certain patterns to emerge. As with most vested interests which shun outside regulation, it has developed methods for policing itself. There have also developed certain identifiable "seals of assurance" (remember The Good Housekeeping Seal?).

Time has produced a number of respected internet marketers who are now considered experts in this field. Their methods have survived the phenomenal growth and uncertainties of the Internet. Their marketing knowledge proved both broad and flexible enough to allow them to stay ahead of the growth and changes they encountered. You will begin to see their names over and over as you visit sites and read more about this field.

Tools for Professionalism. To give your site credibility and to create a professional appearance there are several tools and techniques readily available on the internet. Many of these resources not only add professionalism to your site, but also are great timesavers in administering your site.

Consider the following:
~Your own domain name is critical. You can register your-name.com now!
~An email account with features such as filters, auto responders, etc.
~Accepting credit cards and checks dramatically increases sales.
